Sarika Patel, O.D.

Sarika Patel, O.D., graduated Magna Cum Laude in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While an intern at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she conducted primary care, pediatric, ocular disease, contact lens, and low vision eye exams, in addition to specialized training in myopia control, infant aphakia, specialty contact lenses, nursing home eye exams, low vision, and vision therapy. Prior to her tenure at UAB, she completed two externships in Alabama at Basden Eye Care and Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System, where she gained extensive experience in treating myopia, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association. A native of Montgomery, she enjoys going on walks with her golden retriever, Daisy.
